The release of the debut album by Les Sewing Sisters, slated for July 23, is less than two weeks away. The disc, produced by Lun*na Menoh and Adam Lee Miller of ADULT. was mastered by famed engineer Rafael Anton (Terry Riley and Ryuichi Sakamoto). Recorded at Silverlake Studio and Woodhouse Studios in Detroit, Les Sewing Sisters’ debut features revolutionary sounds unlike anything else ever recorded.
In a short while I will post my album review featuring a brand new interview with Menoh. In the meantime, the duo have released four videos in advance of the album drop (the most recent two embedded in this article). I am adding a link to my 2019 interview with Lun*na Menoh, in which she discusses her work in visual art, fashion, and music, including her iconoclastic version of Ravel’s Bolero which set the stage for her continuing work making music from the sampled and processed sounds of sewing machines. Enjoy!
