The category “Neuromantic” — a clever play on the glamorous new wave genre “New Romantic — is how the band Violet Silhouette describes their sound. From West Palm Beach, Florida, this electronic trio just dropped their second single from their upcoming EP. The single, “Hierda Demoniaca” is filled with pulsing synth beats, shimmering guitars, and ethereal vocals, with references to the legends of goth pop and darkwave that we love.

Neuromantic is an ideal phrase for this sound. Hierda Demonica” is featured in a colorful performance video, and the track is from the upcoming EP Feverblue. Lyrically, “Hierda Demoniaca” is about pain and the search for love, truth and transformation. The title translates to “Demon Grass,” raising questions about potential hazards on the search for inner peace.

Violet Silhouette released their excellent debut EP in April, 2021. Titled SEMIPERMANENTDEREALIZATION,  it signaled from the start that inner states of being and transformation are at the heart of the band’s lyrical concerns. Violet Silhouette’s second set, Feverblue is expected later this year.
