On a track that transcends the vocal language barrier, Berlin’s XTR Human delivers electrifying beats with composer/frontman Johannes Stabel spitting out distorted rhymes in the German language. The German language already has an aggressive sound, and with the buzzy pulsating bass and EBM drum treatment, XTR Human’s “Neid” is packed with high tempo excitement that speaks in the universal language.
On track like this, the bassline is always an important element. “Neid’s” catchy bassline dominates with inspirations ranging from Kraftwerk to Nine Inch Nails. Lyrics aren’t available online yet – suffice it to say it’s likely that the messages on “Neid,” meaning “Envy,” live up to the darkness of its sound.
“Neid” is from the upcoming nine track set, Schrank. It’s from Negative Gain Productions and Wie Ein Gott Records and arrives May 17.
